I’m all for having some handbags in your collection that are unique and different—hey, let’s even say whimsical, but you need to be careful. Sometimes, whimsical turns into sensory overload—in the desire to create a purse that’s fun and almost one-of-a-kind looking, a designer can many times end up going overboard with too much color, too many patterns, too many charms—just too much!
Nordstrom.com even has a section devoted to “Whimsical Handbags” and I find that many of the bags featured there miss the mark when it comes to what I’m looking for in a bag. I think that colorful prints and bright hues can combine to create some really beautiful handbags, but even so, the combo doesn’t always quite work, especially when used in excess. So, I think I’ll steer clear of the “Whimsical Handbags” and still have plenty of fun with my leather ones!

I feel odd about giving props on my own blogs, same for just saying “hee hee” and being done with it. I think everyone skips the would-be appreciated he he comments, because they might seem less valuable. But gosh, doesn’t that sound like a compliment?
Anyway, my point is that I just wanted to say, great article!

You’re welcome.
I actually do like a couple of those bags, and I think I’ll feature them, probably next week though.
