Pursed Lips’ Own Carnivale: Dream Bags

August 25, 2006 by Designer Ella

We are hosting the Carnivale of Couture this week! I dreamed up such the perfect question a few weeks ago! It’s a two-parter, this or that (or both) answer.

  1. If you were to only have the allowance for one Big Name designer IT Bag, what would it be? (This is a dream to many with the allowance for none!)
  2. If you were given $10,000 (ooookayyyyyy, $20,000 if you’re a superdiva) to buy only ‘IT’ Big Name designer bags, which dream ones would you buy (or just one perhaps)? (You can save some of the cash left over for something else not to be mentioned.) Yes, please do try to keep track of general prices, and authentic and real-life eBay prices count if you would opt for auctions (although if you can’t tell authentic, skip the lower-priced ones, natch!).
  3. (By the way, pictures would help us purse desirers!)

Hermès Birkin Crocodile Brown BagPlease reply on your blog or in the comments, and the entries will go up here on Monday. Since I’m posting this a little on the late side (due to personal issues which are resolved, knock on wood), there may be a late-call finale day! If you know you will be late, comment a little RSVP.

To submit your published entry, just leave a comment here with your permalink URL in the field. (Our spam protection on this blog is practically manual, so I moderate all new commenters and your comments definitely won’t get eaten.)

I think that’s it! Have fun with this dream shopping spree, and I hope you don’t stress if you can’t afford this. My intentions are to give moments of joy!

A side blog news note, I took personal days / family vacations the last two weeks (while still doing my best under my circumstances with personal problems to work on the Carnivale), and now I just want to note that I hope the new scheduled entry days (see a few weeks ago) will be coming back starting next week! I will definitely see you on Monday with the grandest IT Bag Festival (nay, Carnivale, yet!

And I also lovelovelove this bag. I guess I’m into medicine bag shapes this fall. :-)

      Hi Elle,

Hope you’re doing well! I’ve been missing you at Kiss Me, Stace ;) Here’s my submission:

Thanks, girls! This wasn’t the biggest raving success, for Kiss Me, Stace can’t give great attention when my only blog work IS la Carnivale (less posting, probably fewer visits, but I’m doing okay) as I’ve been having troubles and Manolo did not announce … but at least I squeezed our week in before the Fall semester begins … Thanks so much.

My own entry is linked, even though that’s not necessary. ;-)

I wanted to say that there’s AN EXTENSION! I will post tonight or as soon as I can, although I’m not sure if there’s anything I can do to get more entries, so I’ll just post as soon as I can anyway.

      See you later!

(Ack, no spell check, I’m not on my own computer, which feels awful…)

Hi Ella, here is my entry: http://stylegraduate.blogspot.com/2006/08/dream-bag-carnival.html

To get more entries, you may want to ask Manolo to put up a notice on shoeblogs.com

      :)

Thanks! I feel like we’ve hit the mark now.

I did ask Manolo, but it was already Friday afternoon.

I’ve been so busy the last week and a 1/2 or so.

Of course part of that business has been eBaying, like that Friday morning which just made me forget my e-mails (Manolo was part of that).

Then my e-mails gave me a panic attack.

Because I was away for a while. Ah!

So then I quickly ’shouted out’ to the Manolo and rested.

I might have gone back to eBay during that rest?

      ;-)

All is well, I suppose. It’s just a Carnivale. And my health is fine.

Hi Ella - we have a second Carnivale entry over at Style Graduate (we have two bloggers, so two entries - I hope that’s okay!); this one is from Valerie, and you can see it here: http://stylegraduate.blogspot.com/2006/08/my-it-bag.html
