What makes our number 1 wallet in our top wallets list so at the top is because it’s so the most IT of all wallets all year. Love the line or hate it, this collection of small accessories are big IT bags of their own.
So our #1 wallet of 2006 is Louis Vuitton’s Groom Line Monogram Wallet with Zip Pocket. It’s sizable, at 7.5″ x 4″ with a whopping 10 credit card slots and several pockets, including a zip pocket (for coins?).

I love that! Interior coin pockets are the best, because it’s so much easier to put back change with bills at the same time. And we all have all those member/discount/merch cred/gift card/debit/charge/etc etc etc cards! We need a good number of slots, like 10.
Face it, use slash utilitarianism, combined with durability are the true factors of what we need in wallets.
But then of course it’s from Louis Vuitton, with those LVs and that crazed-for new unmistakable bellhop / “groom” cartoon.
All that LV-goodness for $570 (and catch it before the next price increase in February!).
Love the little guy or hate him, the groom’s in.
And I personally hope he sticks around long enough for me to get a nicely aged one down the road on eBay!

eLUXURY now has Louis Vuitton’s new Damier Azur line in stock, though I believe more bags are to come (or perhaps have all quickly-quickly sold out?).
Damier Azur is the Damier checkerboard coated canvas pattern, but in créme and pale blue. The bags in stock are two luggage duffles and one organizer wallet (Zippy Organizer, shown)—my favorite of the collection, the French Purse, sold out within days. What a shocker shame!
As usual, don’t trust eBay for these new LVs.
Also new for Louis Vuitton is the third price rise this year. Rises depended on former price points and newness factor of bags, and was about $20 for most styles. The Alma, for one example, went from around $880 I believe, to an even $900. Whoa!
What do you think of this news?

It’s IT Bag Monday (late afternoon) … with a wallet!
If you want a hot wallet, you’ve found it. If you want a teeny tiny bit of a Chloé Paddington, for a lower yet not highly reasonable price, well I think you’ve got it.

I do like it, don’t get me wrong! I like the padlock, of course—and I really, really like the way the key is attached: on the zipper pull.
You know blatantly in this case that the lock is not a utilitarian device, and I like that … worrying if I have to unlock my purse to get inside is too much for me.
But wait, in the case of a wallet, it might be nice. One could keep the key elsewhere and maybe be a little bit safer from card & identity theft?
Anyway, it is a nice look, at least. Tongue in oh, so chic? Oh, so chic.
Specs: Anthracite leather, zip fastenings for cards and coins, 7 ½” l x 4″ h x 1″ d, $615.

Runway Letdown: What’s Up with Marc Jacobs’ Bags?

I am often a public transportation passenger. And I am driven nuts by the separate sets of change and everything I may need—which all is required to be in my hand in a second, as the bus pulls up. Pocketed change doesn’t make me feel cool, and change in any wallet is hard to count up into the right amount in a short time. I need at least a double-compartment coin purse—or a full wallet with all the pockets needed for transportation passes!
Urban Outfitters Buckle Coin Purse is a great little wallet for the occasion. Any girl could use it every day to fit large and small bills, IDs and passes, change, receipts, and lip glosses ALL separate! Transit travelers can fit passes, tokens, and separated amounts of change. Plus, one can still fit some cash and makeup needed for those little trips, for you might have a large work tote and a wallet to store those necessities to switch between different use bags. For $12 and in stylish bronze or teal, it’s cheap and chic, to boot.

After the too-expensive-even-in-my-dreams handbag I featured last week in the “12 Handbags of Christmas,” I made it my goal this week to feature more affordable picks. We can dream, but unfortunately, sometimes, we need to think about our budgets. So, my fourth pick is the Vegas Long Wallet by Bebe for only $54!
Available in silver or gold, it has gathers and a sequin panel down the center. Now, you need to be careful when purchasing a handbag with sequins as this is an embellishment that if done incorrectly can go too far and end up looking like one of Elvis’s overdone jumpsuits. Fortunately, Bebe has done sequins justice on this wallet. It has quite a few features too, which include 12 card slots, inner and outer zippered pockets, snap closure and a checkbook slot and the size (3.5″ x 7.5″) is perfect for a party.
Also, be sure to check out the matching coin purse for only $29!

A wallet is a crucial aspect of the handbag industry that sometimes gets overlooked. Yes, I’ll admit I do have more handbags than wallets, but I think it’s essential that every handbag-loving girl needs at least one great wallet that can be interchanged between purses. Who wants to have a fabulous bag only to open it and pull your money out of a less than desirable wallet! I know I don’t, but I do tend to be a tad obsessive about having organization inside my purses.

Coach always has great wallets, and after taking a recent look, the Soho Leather Slim Envelope Wallet (3 7/8″ x 7 5/8″) is my pick. It’s made of lightweight leather with a fabric lining and comes in a choice of colors (black, mahogany or white). I love the white! There are 10 credit-card slots, 2 additional interior pockets, a double billfold, an interior zippered coin compartment, an outer pocket and a magnetic snap buckle closure—all this for $208.

And don’t despair if you can’t spend $208 for the Coach wallet. Nine West has a similar wallet for only $34. The Glazed Indexer (3.5″ x 5″) has 12 card slots, a double billfold, an exterior coin pocket, along with a buckle clasp. Colors available include classic black, blue, moss green and nut brown. Sure, it might not have as many details as the Coach, but you’ll still look great paying for your next purchase!
