Introducing Marc by Marc Jacobs Signature! ?

July 18, 2006 by Designer Ella

Marc by Marc Jacobs now has a signature-like print all over new bags?

Marc Jacobs Luxy Leather Danielle HoboThe bags are all different and were given women’s names. The great thing is that they’re all made of soft leather that has been embossed with the scrambled letters that make up “Marc Jacobs.” No canvas, no jacquard, actually leather!

Subtle, sophisticated, and worth the few-hundred dollars pricetags. No more because we can’t see the full name (and the bags of course don’t have Jacobs’ styling), no less because this is quality.

The bag featured is the Luxy Hobo, Michelle. The supple grained leather bag, tonal in camel or mauve, is sized large at 16″ wide and costs $438. Buy this collection by Marc at eLUXURY.

    Marc Jacobs Stam Bag

July 10, 2006 by The Desirers

Marc Jacobs Quilted BagMallory Road: Framed bags, chain straps and quilted fabric—these are three things I’ve been seeing a lot of in recent magazines and the Marc Jacobs Stam Bag (16″ l x 11″ h x 6″ d) embodies them all.

Selling for $1,275, this purse is available in black or mouse (gray), has double top handles with a chain strap, one outside pocket and one interior pocket.

I’m not an overly huge fan of chain handles, so I’d prefer to remove the chain, but I do like the framed bag design, especially since framed bags usually have kiss-lock closures, which I adore.

Designer Ella: Drool! No wonder, then, why it’s such an IT craze. It’s the IT bag of the Summer! I was recently struck with love for this bag after being hit over the head with seeing all the copies. I’ve been nutty for it all week. Perfect bag to post today except that it’ll make it worse for me. I want this bag! Give it all to me, the quilted leather, the zippered pocket, and yes—that chain! I shall wear it hanging while I arm-crook the purse. Oh, yes. (But alas, no :-(.)

The good news is I can carry the Marc by Marc Jacobs quilted velvet bag I did afterall buy at the end of the winter season and feel all better. Right? Better than buying a fake leather imitation of a fad that I’ll never wear and will be absolutely hideous, certaintly!

    Marc Jacobs Spring Satchel

June 2, 2006 by Mallory Road

Marc Jacobs SatchelCombine Marc Jacobs (one of my favorite designers) and a satchel (one of my favorite purse styles) and you get a gorgeous handbag such as this Soft Calf Tina purse (14″ l x 8″ h x 7″ d).

You better believe if I had an extra $995 somewhere around here, I’d buy this one in a hurry! Smooth leather in a gorgeous linen color, side pockets with signature Marc Jacobs press-locks, protective metal feet, an adjustable leather belt wrapping around the center—all accented with chunky gold hardware. It also has such a beautiful shape—I love its profile! This would definitely be a classy and fun purse to carry to work or anywhere!

Marc Jacobs Channels Chanel, once more

May 25, 2006 by Designer Ella

Marc Jacobs White Patent Leather Pouchette

When I saw this bag, I thought it was Chanel. Silly me, it’s a new Marc Jacobs. Am I really so crazy, there? Marc Jacobs has once again channeled Chanel for a new handbag. Seriously, this guy should forget Louis Vuitton, and Karl Lagerfeld should be removed from his house … and Marc should go to the other place he belongs (besides his own name and Marc by Marc Jacobs).

(Called the Ursula Pouchette, this bag is available in 3 colors from eLUXURY.)

Marc by Marc Jacobs Leather Clutch

May 10, 2006 by Mallory Road

    Marc Jacobs Leather Clutch
This leather clutch by one of my favorites, Marc by Marc Jacobs, is a combination of class and whimsy. The brown leather and overall style combine to create a piece that can be carried for years, never needing to worry that it’s “out of style,” but the fun design elements such as metal stud details and contrast stitching create a fresh look. I love how the studs and stitching create the appearance of a bow with the “MJ” monogram at center front.

Measuring 7.5″ l x 4.5″ h, it’s available for $168 and features 6 card slots, 2 large slot pockets and one large zipper pocket.

Marc Jacobs Perforated Leather in a TOTE!

May 3, 2006 by Designer Ella

    Marc Jacobs Perforated Leather Tote

The famous and celebrity-popular perforated leather from Marc Jacobs also comes in an elongated tote! Mallory and I both don’t like “tall” purses, but this one does look nice held by that (tall, tall [fake]) mannequin. Hey, it’s different, it’s noteworthy, and now you know.

The Marc Jacobs Perforated Leather Tote sells at Net-a-Porter for $1,350, which is the same price as the smaller satchel version. And that’s nice.

    Mallory’s Birthday Month

March 1, 2006 by Mallory Road

    Marc Jacobs Quilted Leather Bowler
Today is not only my second-year work anniversary at my job, but it is also what I have named the official kickoff to my birthday month—yes, I said birthday month. I try to squeeze every ounce of fun I can out of my birthday, which falls on the 14th. I figure that your birthday comes but once a year, so you should enjoy it, right?!

So, in honor of March 1, I’m posting a picture of a bag that I love, but will no doubt, probably never own because of the price ($1,075)—the Quilted Patent Bowler by one of my favorites, Marc Jacobs. Ironically, it’s the perfect color for this Irish-themed month!

Runway: Marc Jacob’s in the Bag

February 10, 2006 by Designer Ella

    Marc JacobsMarc Jacobs

The beauty of the Fall 2006 Marc Jacobs show was in the bags. Bag Lady attire led eyes to only find hope in this preview of a luxe Autumn for handbags.

There is a different feel to this largely-satchel collection. More exotic leathers, like this snake bag, over quilts. Self-innovation comes in the form of gusset push locks, ample tortoise shell—including on chain straps and buckles, and this different way of using straps on all sides of a bag (man, do I love straps)—woven through a larger strap, no less. Eye indulgence!

    Marc JacobsMarc Jacobs

It all inspires me to carry my more luxurious bags (like my python darling), if only I could go out today, on this busy work day of the last of Fashion Week NYC! (I wish I could be sampling bags with Coco, and hitting try-on rooms with some Antik Denim, but work, I will.)

Unfortunately, to match the size of the models under layers of coats (to warm up after losing homes due to buying Jacobs?) many bags shown were voluminous, as well. I don’t really see them making it to stores, though, and there seemed nothing with interesting detail. It’s a good thing, because consumers might have to live in those purses after splurging!

    Best Denim Bag, Yet

January 7, 2006 by Designer Ella

Marc Jacobs Denim SatchelIn any dream list must go the Marc Jacobs denim bag, too. Light blue. Here is the Smooch winner for best denim handbag. This Washed Denim Bag is a refreshing, quilted take on denim (which itself is a refreshing take on all the Marc Jacobs Collection signature touches) with equal blends of golden and winter white tones. I love the thought of denim being “indestructible,” which to me means that it can be luxury when done right, while it can be a usable, keeper item! There is nothing more that needs to be said that wouldn’t only subtract from the picture-gawking portion of this read. Enjoy this $1,095 piece of art with your free, small peek.

eLUXURY is offering an exclusive deal of a free Marc Jacobs Soft Calf Cosmetic Pouch, with purchase of select Marc Jacobs Collection handbags. Marc Jacobs Collection Free Gift Cosmetic CaseFitting the deal, and just in for the holidays, are the Metallic Leather handbags, such as this Metallic Multi Pocket Bagicon and the Metallic Blakeicon. iconI can’t help, though, but to be more in love, so tremendously in love, in fact, with the Marc Jacobs Satin Mia Three tones of lush purples, black and tan leather OR … omgosh … 5 shades of cascading tonal browns and black. Either choice is as delicious to look at—and touch the satin and smooth leather—as those pies we ate for Thanksgiving dessert! Mmm. On top of that, there are antiqued brass rings, studs and hardware! And I thought I was full Thursday! Unfortunately, the bag’s $725, so I couldn’t possibly buy 2!

Also, the Mia style doesn’t come with a free gift. On the bright side, eLUXURY is offering free shipping!
