Hermès Kelly Shearling Muff

March 8, 2007 by Designer Ella

Hermes Kelly Muff

I absolutely adore this Kelly-styled shearling-lined leather muff that IMHO stole the show at Hermès. The thing is I’m not sure if it’s actually a bag! It doesn’t appear to be able to fit much in it besides hands. It is definitely styled after the classic Kelly bag, though, so if it’s not a bag, I say it’s just as good—or better? One thing’s certain, this is the most stylin’ muff ever!

Pink Leather Digital Camera Case by Kodak

February 23, 2007 by Designer Ella

Kodak Camera CaseI was on the hunt for a camera case for … oh probably years. Especially with my camera turning on and wasting battery if I take it anywhere with the batt left in. Ugh. Just recently, I also decided I needed a new digital camera, a small one with a “macro” setting. Now not only does my new camera do away with my cam problems, is on beat with modern technology & fun other settings in addition to macro, and it comes in pink(!) but it doesn’t even turn on randomly due to its optical lens features.

Still, when I found the cam, things just *clicked* into place and I found the perfect little case! It’s pink as well, is small enough to secure the camera, but with extra room to fit small accessories, in genuine leather and its darn cute to bag! Clearly meant for a camera, with padded sides to protect your gadget and a multi-colored dangling fob including a camera charm, it could even be a small clutch with its fashionable look and wristlet strap. The buckle + charms combo remind me of COACH meets Luella. Love it!

The price is darn right a dream, too: $24.99 and your order might come with free standard shipping. Oh yeah, here are the cameras, as well. Aren’t we just the picture of stylish perfection?

    Fendi Crossword Clutch

February 22, 2007 by Designer Ella

Fendi Crossword ClutchContinuing with their style of a very geometric logo print, is the design on Fendi’s Crossword Clutch. In a word: “smart”. With cleverly laid out “tiles” or strips of silver letters on white leather, which spell Fendi in a perfect rectangular “U”, this bag has name appeal and is attractive “to bag”. Complete with a silver metallic handle with “Fs”on each side, appearing similar to their Zucca logo, the clutch is sized 12″ across x 6″ down. This pieced together bag doesn’t have too steep an expense, yet it’s not being given away in a game! It’s $920 at Neiman Marcus.

Dooney & Bourke Mini Bubble Small Tulip BagPolka dots make me happy, and that is the feel of Dooney & Bourke’s new “Mini Bubble” collection. In their classic shapes, they’ve miniaturized their “Bubble” circle logo and put them on different colours such as cream/black, sky, cocoa, multi (pictured) and more.

The mini bubble is cute and depending on colour can suit any age. It’s not in-your-face or tacky, no these tiny bubbles are just fine.

    Chanel Calfskin Logo Flap Bag

February 1, 2007 by Designer Ella

Chanel Calfskin Flap BagChanel offers lots of fantastic and luxe bags each season, but since they’re a classics maker, there isn’t always much too unique to shout about. Still, the bags are fabu, and I vow now to blog more about this brand favored among many. (Including myself, oh my first Chanel, come to me!)

For Spring, there are a lot of bright whites and luxe skins, but what catches my fancy most is something I think is actually a bit new and different. It’s a calfskin flap bag - standard enough, but it’s the logo I love (well, for a different reason from usual). The Chanel inverted Cs continue on from flap to bag body … and of course, because it is Chanel after all, they flow seamlessly and align perfectly. Super swoon!

Wow, I really need my first Chanel soon … or two. ;-)

    Top 5 Party Bags #2

December 28, 2006 by Designer Ella

Elliott Lucca Amelie ClutchProving that I don’t go higher-end toward the end, our number 2 top Party bag is from Elliot Lucca: his Amelie Clutch mixes today’s top trend of quilting with Lucca’s own styling of unique leather patterns. Instead of braided or woven leather, the leather is fashioned in a sort of plaid-patterned quilt. The evening clutch is topped off with jeweled gunmetal rivets! Ohh la la, number #1 trendy plus luxe evening bag for your fabulous New Years. I hope you’ve discovered this treat before, because it’s sold out online. C’est the year-wide top 5 list, I guess. But we can still admire this lovely? Ooohhhh.

Check back at the website or call 888-LUCCA-01 to speak with an associate regarding availability.

Coach Anniversary Madison Stripe FlapThis week of Christmas and before New Years, it’s the Top 5 Party Bags. The first is an anniversary evening purse by Coach: Madison Stripe Flap.

The evening shape is a rare one for Coach and the stripes carry “legacy.” Plus, they’re colorful and make for great funky, upbeat party fun. Coach has similar styles in more formal special occasion bags, so check those out too.

    This Madison Flap is sized about 10″ x 5″ x 1.25″ and runs $298.

And now … The Top 5 Ugliest Bags!

December 19, 2006 by Designer Ella

Yes, on this third week of our New Year countdown, this last week before Christmas, we bring you some holiday amusement with … The Top 5 Ugliest Bags!

And our 5th choice was tough, there were three current Coach contenders. Two had fringe, but we only have room for five on each countdown.

So our number 5 is the Coach Soho Signature Stitched Flap, and I’ll tell you why.

Coach stitched flapIt’s not just because of the embellishments, oh no. About half the bags in Coach’s stitch line are amazing and beautiful, it’s about the embellishments paired with other over-the-top elements.

First, the color, this isn’t such a detraction, but the bland color adds no sense of gorgeousness to this bag. Still we must consider more mixed with this. Second, the Signature (and being large at that). I love Signature of course, but all the bags in this line that are signature are just way too busy. The bags that are leather, on the other hand, are striking especially because of bold colors. Finally, I hate that awkward shape of this style of flap bag. The frame makes the whole bag look weird.

Add all that up and we get an ugly bag … a bag just ugly enough to beat out bags with long fringe!!!

    Top 5 Budget Bags #1 !!!

December 8, 2006 by Designer Ella

Okay, so the bag that tops off the list of Budget Handbags is a tad more expensive, and considerably smaller, but it really does pack a lot of style, quality and luxe detail into a small punch - er - pouch.

Coach Signature Leather Pouch#1 Coach Signature-Leather Pouch

The small purse or travel case is embossed, then finely stitched with their signature C pattern. And the new versions have a longer strap drop, but I can’t say for certain whether it’ll fit on your shoulder. It’s perfect for the younger, just-budding fashionista. The thing that really seals the appeal of this bag is that Signature Leather was not made in anything larger!

The price? $138. Not so bad.
