New Louis Vuitton Line + Price Raise

November 6, 2006 by Designer Ella

Louis Vuitton Damier Azur OrganizereLUXURY now has Louis Vuitton’s new Damier Azur line in stock, though I believe more bags are to come (or perhaps have all quickly-quickly sold out?).

Damier Azur is the Damier checkerboard coated canvas pattern, but in créme and pale blue. The bags in stock are two luggage duffles and one organizer wallet (Zippy Organizer, shown)—my favorite of the collection, the French Purse, sold out within days. What a shocker shame!

As usual, don’t trust eBay for these new LVs.

Also new for Louis Vuitton is the third price rise this year. Rises depended on former price points and newness factor of bags, and was about $20 for most styles. The Alma, for one example, went from around $880 I believe, to an even $900. Whoa!

What do you think of this news?

    Orla Kiely Weekender Bag

March 27, 2006 by Mallory Road

    Orla Kiely Weekender Bag
I’m leaving on vacation this week and I have to admit, I really don’t like the travel bag I’m using. So, I’ve decided I need to buy a new one before my next trip—maybe this weekender bag. I discovered it the same time I found the Floral Catchall I previously posted about.

Available in brown or red, it’s $240 and has several inner and outer pockets. I’m going to be gone for less than a week, so the size (18″ l x 14″ h x 8.5″ d) would accommodate most everything—well, come to think of it, I might need two. I always end up taking more than I need—I’d rather have more than suddenly decide I need something I didn’t bring!

    Runway Bags: Tuleh Suitcase Girls

February 6, 2006 by Designer Ella

    Tuleh Suitcase Girl

Beautifully detailed floral pastel suitcases by Tuleh.

Stuffed in to a theme-varied Tuleh Fall 2006 runway show, were suitcases and weekenders. Two totes in tow for each of three girls, were both out of place among the larger picture, and oddly thought-striking. We must instantly see designer Bryan Bradley as a top luggage maker; at least we envisioned that while the models were still strolling the catwalk in a manner both awkward and engaging: perfect while bogged down. This also brings attention to the other bags in the collection, giving much more cred to Tuleh as a handbag house. It’s just too bad Style.com didn’t have good detail shots of the rest of the bags, which were all small clutches.

We will watch for Tuleh next time they come to town.

    Anthropologie Toiletries Case

July 6, 2005 by Designer Ella

Anthropologie Toiletries Case Functional and fun: check out this neat toiletries case from Anthropologie. It’s laminated in colorful paisley; attractive to all ages. The inside is lined with various useful pockets. What a fun way to travel in style! If only the pattern were sold on other travel pieces, it would attract focus on a luggage belt. It’s even cute enough to design the whole bathroom with, or place decorative pieces in a bedroom.

    Travel in Style

July 1, 2005 by Designer Ella

The handbag-attached fashionista must look good, um, having a larger male friend lug around her bags at the airport. The luggage should definitely have style. And every piece should match, should they not?
Fleur de Lis 4-Piece Luggage Set
    Oh, she needs it all.

A luggage set is the perfect solution for the fashion inclined, the thrifty or budget-tied - male or female.

This set, Fleur de Lis by American Flyer, is my favorite. It has all the style of Louis Vuitton, plus more, I say! It’s rarer and sleeker, and it has that designer monogram flair, to boot. All for - yes ALL 4 pieces - for $159.99! Quel shock!

TIP: Please note all sizes to make sure bags fit as checked and carry-on for your favorite airline.
