Continuing with their style of a very geometric logo print, is the design on Fendi’s Crossword Clutch. In a word: “smart”. With cleverly laid out “tiles” or strips of silver letters on white leather, which spell Fendi in a perfect rectangular “U”, this bag has name appeal and is attractive “to bag”. Complete with a silver metallic handle with “Fs”on each side, appearing similar to their Zucca logo, the clutch is sized 12″ across x 6″ down. This pieced together bag doesn’t have too steep an expense, yet it’s not being given away in a game! It’s $920 at Neiman Marcus.

Chanel offers lots of fantastic and luxe bags each season, but since they’re a classics maker, there isn’t always much too unique to shout about. Still, the bags are fabu, and I vow now to blog more about this brand favored among many. (Including myself, oh my first Chanel, come to me!)

For Spring, there are a lot of bright whites and luxe skins, but what catches my fancy most is something I think is actually a bit new and different. It’s a calfskin flap bag - standard enough, but it’s the logo I love (well, for a different reason from usual). The Chanel inverted Cs continue on from flap to bag body … and of course, because it is Chanel after all, they flow seamlessly and align perfectly. Super swoon!

Wow, I really need my first Chanel soon … or two.

And the number one bag in our Top 5 Party Bags series is the Little Stam by Marc Jacobs.

The Stam has a very formal silhouette, but making it smaller makes all the difference to be an evening bag. It’s perhaps the perfect form for a bag such as the Stam. With a little less of the IT Factor, but perhaps a little more practicality (aside from wearing it less often), the Little Stam is still a true competitor.

Proving that I don’t go higher-end toward the end, our number 2 top Party bag is from Elliot Lucca: his Amelie Clutch mixes today’s top trend of quilting with Lucca’s own styling of unique leather patterns. Instead of braided or woven leather, the leather is fashioned in a sort of plaid-patterned quilt. The evening clutch is topped off with jeweled gunmetal rivets! Ohh la la, number #1 trendy plus luxe evening bag for your fabulous New Years. I hope you’ve discovered this treat before, because it’s sold out online. C’est the year-wide top 5 list, I guess. But we can still admire this lovely? Ooohhhh.

Silver and gold .. silver and gold .. what’s more beautiful than a gold lace clutch? A classic Lauren Merkin shape goes ultra classy for the new year for all you ladies and your soirées at $225. This Eve Metallic Lace bag is so beautiful and different, it had to be #3 in our top party bags list.

The top 4 party bag is not really a small evening bag, but it’s fancy, elegant, and besides: it has the word “tuxedo” in its name. And as it also resembles certain elements of the formal dress, again, its suited to be an evening bag. This Tuxedo Leather Bag by Be & D is a medium sized shoulder bag that’ll run $950. I’m thinking of saving for this one, or perhaps doing a sale stalk! Such a beaute.

This week of Christmas and before New Years, it’s the Top 5 Party Bags. The first is an anniversary evening purse by Coach: Madison Stripe Flap.

The evening shape is a rare one for Coach and the stripes carry “legacy.” Plus, they’re colorful and make for great funky, upbeat party fun. Coach has similar styles in more formal special occasion bags, so check those out too.

Who ever heard of a jewelry roll? Well luxe brand, Banana Republic, has made just that—this “Jewelry Roll” is for storing jewelry. The clutch-like piece of fabric unwraps to reveal three wide pockets lined in silk for storage. With its red velvet exterior and beautiful satin bow, I say this item could even be used as a handbag for holiday events!

Measuring 7 ½” x 4″ and at only $38, that’s not a bad choice.

It’s Thursday, which means it’s “Garbage Bag” day.

Sometimes, too much is well, too much, which is the case with this Bead Fringe Frame Bag from Jessica McClintock. Beaded fringe, beaded flower, large frame—we’ve probably all seen this type of bag everywhere. People carry them to proms, weddings, dances, etc., but I have to say I’ve never wanted one. They always seem so overdone to me.

I prefer my evening bags a bit more classic, simple and elegant.
