One of the trademarks of Elliott Lucca handbags is their beautiful detailed use of leathers—their new Amelie handbags are no exception. In this line, gorgeous large-grain leather is quilted and accented with jeweled rivets, which I think somewhat have the look of sophisticated polka dots from a distance.
Currently, the Amelie Dr. Satchel and the Amelie Flap Clutch are available on their web site. I love the clutch! Available in black, chocolate, curry or stone, it measures 7.5″ l x 4″ h x 1″ d, has a classy turnlock closure and a multitude of compartments inside.
But, my favorite thing, well, besides how it looks, about the clutch is its price—only $88! The satchel is only $168! That’s another one of Elliott Lucca’s trademarks—they make nice-looking purses for reasonable prices, which is something everyone can be happy about!

Paris Hilton Poses with Her Chanel Flower Flap as Clutch
July 5, 2006 by Mallory Road
I know, it’s July 5 and I’m posting about clutches that definitely look like they’re made for fall—shame on me! I don’t want to think about the upcoming fall season and colder months, but I thought these Menswear Clutches were so cute, especially given that they’re only $28! Various menswear fabrics (plaid, black pinstripe, houndstooth and basic black) have been fashioned into classy clutches that have decidely ladylike appeal.
The simplicity of the design and the size (9″ l x 4.5″ h x 2″ d) are the perfect match for these fabrics—if the clutch was sized larger or had too many embellishments, the patterned fabrics would stand a good chance of becoming too much. Instead, the elements work together to create clutches that would look adorable peeking out larger purses this autumn or even carrying one by itself.

A day at the beach, hands in the sand, without all the mess, and much more luxury … that’s this Pauline Straw Clutch by Anya Hindmarch. It’s made of natural straw, with golden leather trim, stitched sea-designed embellishments … and, yes, those are actual sea shells, as well. What could be better? Take this $225 baby out to fancy sea food establishments for special-occasion dates. I’d take precious care of this dainty accessory, though, it is very special.

If you’re the type of girl who loves unique purses, look no further than this clutch by Hayden-Harnett. It’s certainly different than what I first picture when I think of a clutch, but that’s what makes it so cool! Measuring 12″ l x 9.5″ h x 2.5″ d, it’s part of the MERCER garment washed collection and it’s available for $253. Wear it on your shoulder with the hinged leather strap, or hide the strap and carry it by the chic belted handle—how adorable!
If you tend not to like clutches because they don’t hold enough for you, this clutch includes pockets for your cell phone and iPod—no more trying to squeeze your necessities into an itsy-bitsy compartment!

I recently spotted Kate Spade’s Arabella Jocelyn clutch in a recent magazine and since I hadn’t spent a lot of time on her site lately, I decided to look around. Of course, the previously mentioned clutch was not only completely out of my price range ($945), but also on backorder. But, I was not disappointed when I happened upon the Lexington Ava clutch, which is only $195. Still expensive for most of us, but not completely out of reach.
This clutch (12.3″ l x 5.5″ h x 1.7″ d) caught my attention because it looks so much like springtime, which I’m really into right now because I’m looking forward to a vacation in March! The white raffia with yellow calfskin trim looks so fresh and light, plus it’s lined with a bright paisley print. It’s very easy to see how this purse was partially inspired by the annual Kentucky Derby, since I can quickly picture it among the vast array of elaborate and embellished hats. But for those of us who probably will never attend the Kentucky Derby, we can still easily pair this clutch with a great pair of jeans or an adorable full skirt!

Oscar de la Renta, among other, even better descriptions, is chic and girly. Here are my two favorite notable purses from his preview of the Fall 2006 collection at the Fashion Week show.

Trend, trends, yes, trends! More croc, and like Marc Jacobs, tortoise shell closures! This clutch is lovely, with its bulging, gathered shape and those details.
The bags followed such themes of exotics and other things, like some chain straps. It’s a lovely collection, leaving me wondering why Oscar’s bags aren’t a little more prevalent (besides the in-the-thousands prices). Bring more of the eye-pleasures to the public, I say!
