The first thing I think of when I look at this Chloé Edith Satchel is that it looks like a backpack — but it sits on the shoulder with straps!

What a 100% improvement on the old school style! That is why I have a second Edith posted today, the day after labor day, when school is just starting. The really cool (older) “kids” (okay a lot older and rich college adults) might just want to carry this roomy (unknown dimensions), lightly pocketed satchel in a new school way.

Imagine this bag on one shoulder, instead of (uck) a nylon, leather, or designer monogram pack on the back!

Maybe I’m crazy, but I like this bag for that purpose. But of course, it’s still expensive for a school bag (or is it to you?) at $1,560.

It’s the Edith, done East/West and without a pocket: The Chloé Edith Large Satchel. I like it! I like the shape, but I really like that side view… Look at those features!

Gussets with drawstring & tie and more buckles on the side in addition to the flap strap. Love buckles. Like the look of that flap.

It’s IT Bag Monday (late afternoon) … with a wallet!

If you want a hot wallet, you’ve found it. If you want a teeny tiny bit of a Chloé Paddington, for a lower yet not highly reasonable price, well I think you’ve got it.

I do like it, don’t get me wrong! I like the padlock, of course—and I really, really like the way the key is attached: on the zipper pull.

You know blatantly in this case that the lock is not a utilitarian device, and I like that … worrying if I have to unlock my purse to get inside is too much for me.

But wait, in the case of a wallet, it might be nice. One could keep the key elsewhere and maybe be a little bit safer from card & identity theft?

Anyway, it is a nice look, at least. Tongue in oh, so chic? Oh, so chic.

It’s IT Bag Monday!

Ah, the Chloé Big Edith. At nearly 18″ wide, it is big but also shaped rounded, it’s a bit like a mixture of other bags. I’m thinking a slouchy Alma with a pocket. Others think YSL Muse.

I can’t decide if I like it or not. And do I like it better or worse than the “eh, okay” normal Edith (although all those colors really help)? I don’t think the slouch works and the pocket’s too wide and placed low. All this indecision makes me realize these are not the IT bags for me.

Still IT Bag Monday!

It’s the Paddington’s rougher, tougher cousin: the Chloé Large Leather Tote.

What’s different? This north / south-shaped tote has a separate zippered compartment on bottom with C-buckled straps on each side.

What’s the same? The oversized padlock, but it’s now on the bottom fastening.

Tip: The Chloé for the Balenciaga fan. It’s trés motorcycle.

Chloé Edith’s for Fall are starting to come into stores, this grey version is currently in stock at Luisa Via Roma .com. I wasn’t into them until looking at the beautiful colors and variations being offered in the coming months. This bag pictured has contrasting lovely navy trim, it appears, and is available to ship now.

Another version of the Chloé Edith, which comes in my recommended shades of “gris vert” (literally a grey green) and “whiskey,” plus more, will be available in July! with more to follow later.

Both styles / all colors are 885 pounds or roughly $1,630.97.

The Paddington has been remade. One, it now has a single shoulder strap! This huge hobo-styled bag slouches when held, but wouldn’t the buckle hurt under your arm pit?

They’ve also added a buckled pocket to the bag, but it’s not very attractive to me, disappointingly—and doesn’t the pocket look uneven?

The Paddington Hobo!!! Behold! Preordering for $1,500 and available to ship on February 22nd is this great new addition to the line. The padlock rests upon a slouchy hobo top, and the body is in a luxe ivory-toned distressed leather, but the rest is all Paddington, babies, buckled gussets and all!

Get this: “Due to high demand, a customer may order no more than 3 units of this item every thirty days.”

I’m also deep in love with the Paddington Washed Lizard Bag. Let your eyes linger on the washed. It’s a beautiful thing; the washed luxury skin really does make for a gorgeous effect.

When leather is washed, it gives it a worn, almost suede-like look. And this is lizard, a rare leather.

This version is available, but unfortunately, for an incredible $7,200.

Of course, there are more Paddingtons to choose from … orr to daydream about.

“I’m dreaming tonight about a handbag I want …” Christmas is the season for dreaming and wishing, and that’s exactly what most girls who want this handbag will have to be content with. Dreamin’ and wishin’ about it because the Chloé Beaded Small Bracelet Bag, the third bag to be spotlighted in the “12 Handbags of Christmas,” is priced at $1140! I suppose the elaborate beading and gold hardware, along with the craftsmanship and design, has a large part in that price tag, but still, $1140 is a lot of money.

Regardless of price, I chose this handbag (7.5″ x 9″ x 3″) to highlight because it’s fun and is a unique design. Made from garnet red satin, it was inspired by one of designer Phoebe Philo’s bracelets. I love when designers combine jewelry elements into their purses. Plus, the red round beads remind me of Christmas ornaments. Can’t you just see them on the tree?!

Now, after spotlighting this high-priced item, I feel the need to choose more affordable handbags next week. So, I’m off to window shop …
