When I first saw Dior’s saddle pouches, well I was intrigued, but I thought they were impractical and questionable in looks. But last evening I saw a girl wearing one of these bags, and I immediately recognized it as designer. So, I gawked. Naturally. This is a good thing.

Looking more at this bag being worn, it is quite nice. For right-arm purse wearers, it must feel comfortable. But it is still a little impractical, as I can’t quite pin down how the items inside the purse will settle.

Above all, though, this bag is an innovation. It is far different from any bag I’ve seen. And the name? Well, it makes sense if you stare at the purse long enough.

Thus I begin a very important fashion lesson for you. Handbags are accessories. You may think you know this from browsing online stores and seeing the grouping of merchandise, but no, you may not. Your handbag must match your outfit - let me be more clear - it does not have to match in color, but it should suit the outfit in a complimentary way. Large signature pattern handbags do not go with patterned clothing. You’ll need a couple of standard, solid color handbags, as well. (Something with pink is a must for most girls, green is nice, and brown or khaki.) It’s a good idea to get a handbag that matches your winter coat, or a coat you wear a lot. You DO need more than one handbag. Some days your beautiful Signature handbag WILL have to stay at home, it needs a rest, anyway. Choose your most expensive, splurge, dream designer bag in a practical color.

Colors change with the seasons, this is why there are handbags for different seasons, BTW. Keep your high priced items to something that will be in style all year and last for many years.

THIS is MY COACH! I’ve been increasingly obsessed with Coach for weeks, now. I went to the store to mostly check out another bag, and caved when I found THIS to be the perfect bag. It doesn’t have outside pockets, but it has great inside pockets! (Zippered, large cell phone pocket, a larger cell phone / multifunction pocket, and a back slip pocket.)

It looks great on me, it’s just about the perfect compromise of sizes.

It’s made with “grass” sued detailing, which I hadn’t realized about it before. Read more about it on its details page.

Aside from the pockets, the green, the large Signature khaki, what sold me was that this bag has a nice, symmetrical and flowing pattern from flap to bag. It’s not perfect, because EVERY bag is different. Nothing can be as nice as the website pictures. You’ve got to go to the store and have the sales lady unwrap every bag they have in this item, so you can inspect them. Yes, that is exactly what I did. But it’s needed, for me, to get the perfect bag if I’m IMPULSING on nearly wiping out my checking account on a purse. (Hardly impulsing, but sort of.) It looks pretty great, doesn’t it? Trust me, this process is necessary, because some of the bags really don’t look as nice.

And now I just want to bring it everywhere to show off - but that’s not practical (school). The thing is, I’m really anal about it, I will not let this thing get dirty!

I love MY Coach bag, I am so happy. Can the obsession end? Well, the anxiety does, but I’m going to love Coach even more. I hope this bag makes me happy for a loong time.

This is the handbag my mom bought at the mall this weekend. It’s from a rare collection by Nine West featuring wild and fun floral prints. There are more totes and satchels based in blue, I really liked the blue satchel. We found them in Filene’s, and they’re not even sold on NineWest.com. Hopefully they will be. They’re really nice brand bags that look like designer.

All of Nine West’s bags are pretty nice, and most of them come with free accessories! This bag comes with a cosmetic case and a key ring.

You ready to hear about the pockets? Interior zip, cell phone, multi-function slip pocket and … pen loops (2)! It also has protective feet. NICE.

The picture shows the bag a little frumpy, she has all her things in it. She’s definitely a tote-carry-all.

Designer Michael Kors makes standard-style, classic, quality handbags. I was quite pleased when I discovered him, and he is now one of my favorites. (Coach being my 1st favorite.) This bag, the Delancey, with its khaki nylon (sans logo) with croc-embossed leather in striking, various colors, rivals the look of some of my favorite Coach items, again, minus the logo. It also has plentiful pockets, which won me over. (It’s harder to find Coach items with sufficient pockets, but there are adequate options.)
